I've got hives on my body and they're driving me nuts. I barely got any sleep last night. Imagine trying to sleep when your whole body itches like mad. I turn simian-like at every opportunity, scratching the itchiness away, only for the hives to multiply. But boy! did it feel good! Being able to scratch an itch has got to be one of the best things in life; even if it draws blood in the process. There has to be some scientific explanation for that considering it's no different than other bodily laceration, and yet we cry in agony when that happens. The brain truly is a mysterious entity.

Btw, my nephew is gleefully amused at my simian transformation of which I am truly annoyed. Must be the salted fish I had yesterday..

It's the withdrawal period now. I'm going cold turkey till August. This is the time when I always feel somewhat empty especially after a euphoric Euro 2008. It's been most entertaining even if van Persie came out empty handed; but we have another Arsenal man Cesc Fabregas with the ultimate Euro glory and boy! did Spain win it in style!

I'm happy for football as a whole. Finally it's a win for the team which plays the right football. I've gone through the heartbreaks of being an Oranje fan for as long as I can remember. Oranje stirs my blood but I've also resigned to the fact that the best team don't always win, a fact that reasserted itself when Oranje once again lost despite the convincing displays of total football and an explosive start. That said, I found some consolation in that loss, seeing how Russia played true football much like the Oranje. Then came Spain whom admittedly I wasn't convinced of becoming the champions considering their woeful record in international football despite having some of the best talents on the planet. But this time God had other idea. He decided to repay them with the ultimate glory thus giving hope to those in the same mould of The Arsenal. Here's hoping for a great season come August, with or without Ade. In all earnestness, I want him to leave. He's been disrespectful against the club and no way is he better than Henry. Just shhh shhh and shoo will you? Everyone should learn from Cesc. Humility begets respect. You just gotta love the kid.

I haven't been up this late (unless it's a footie nite) for the longest time. There was a time when I would refuse to give in to that state of suspended consciousness even knowing pretty well that I'd be half floating came 4pm the next day, all because I thought sleeping was a waste of time. All I want to say is that tomorrow is a holiday hence the staying up at this wee hour but my eyes are failing me and so is my brain. It feels like a huge balloon, pulling me away from my seat.

I'm listening to Jason Wade telling me to give him some time cos we're running into the sun, getting close to something into the sun. I'd go anywhere with him if he ever asks :) He's the next best thing to a certain Mr. Lethal Left Foot who unfortunately is made entirely of glass (but I still love you); quite contrary to this friend of mine whose skull is so thick that nothing gets into his head. Angels don't come spreading their legs, they spread their wings but he doesn't seem to get that. Why am I not surprised.. Men don't generally think with the head that matters anyway. Enough reason to keep your girlfriends around, especially those with good ration of chocolates. I personally love dark bitter ones. Anyway, I am proud of the team; no one gave them any chance and look what they've done. They've overachieved. I wasn't one to believe that they could do it without Henry and Pires, and I'm so glad they've proven me wrong time and time again. Ade was poison then, an antidote this season. 30 bloody goals; who would have guessed! and what else can be said about our little spanish dancer. Absolutely Fabregas. We've got the best left back and the best right back in Clichy and Sagna (with the braid) respectively. The latter took to Arsenal like duck to water it's unbelievable. Toure is forever the warrior king. I don't care what others say about Gallas, imho he was worthy of the armband (despite my wtf has AW done earlier in the season :P), no question about it. The Birmingham incident was a one off. I hope Theo isn't overwhelmed with the rapturous reception every time he graces the pitch. He's gonna be one of our greats if he can keep his head. I could go on and on about every single player to don the arsenal shirt this season but it'd be a mighty long post and I am hungry. I expect good things to come out from Alex Song next season as well.

Having said all that, I have a very special spot in my heart for RvP, nevermind that he is made of glass; but when he's not crocked, he's lethal. Here's praying for an injury free season for the love of my life.

I am sad that Lehmann is leaving. He was part of the Invincibles, he took us to the CL final, most of all he's given us lots of comical moments as well. People say he's mad but I really do love him. All the very best to the most colourful goalkeeper ever!

It just occurred to me watching Sportscenter just now that I really really do not want any of the remaining English teams to win especially that c**t Cristina R. This blog has been neglected yet again. No, I was not on a calculated sabbatical but in my defense, I have been busy recuperating from bouts of illnesses. Most companies have long Christmas cum New Year break. I don't have that luxury. It's not the company policy. The company usually closes on Christmas day and that's just it. We don't get any off day on New Year's Day either. The company is weird, I already know that much, but I certainly am not prepared for this. Apparently the top boss had a divine revelation over the weekend and declared today as a holiday! Friggin bizarre albeit a very nice one I must say, and it's the middle of the week too so it's most welcomed. And what do I do with the leisurely time granted? I waste away my time reading up the net while trying to simultaneously type this shit. Let's see where this takes us cos I have no clue what my mind is gonna tell my fingers to type. So much for being productive, blame it on the hot and lazy afternoon, it's a natural hindrance to any kind of exertion on my part. I need the rain, I want it to rain, to help cleanse and most importantly to rejuvenate my soul. It's been pretty arid, almost too bitter for a good part of 2007.

Aidil Adha just flew by, come tomorrow it'll be Xmas and right on cue, my tonsils are flaring again but I don't have a Xmas dinner to attend to this year. That says a lot about the level of intimacy I've been indulging myself into of late (reads almost non-existent). I could do without the series of choke-inducing questions anyway. Oh dear! Tonight's the night. I'm having the jitters already. I know it's still too early in the season but this sure feels like a title decider. It always is with United. (I've decided to be civilised today and not associate them with the stench of some meadow muffin :P) It's a big big game especially when our own Pizza Boy (don't you just love him? Right smack on SAF's face?head? I'd love to see that LOL*) has now grown and bossing the midfield with real finesse. I hope he doesn't get riled up by the overzealous 'feisty' (smirk) ones at United. United's playing some fantastic football too and they're very dangerous on set pieces as well. Someone need to decapitate that Vidic! It doesn't help that the love of my life is still out injured so I'm hoping for Ade to rise to the occasion as he did last year when we beat them in both game home and away which I'm sure would inspire him tonight. What all training organizers should know before they arrange a bloody training:

Bloody effing look at the working calender la dei! You just dont arrange a 9-5 training on the last day before you ( and I mean the whole company) go on a 5-day-break when everyone has gone two or three gears down already.

It would help if it's a How to Make a Paper Plane training but nooooo, it's gotta be one of those heavyweight key trainings blah blah blah.. I am so not looking forward to it though I could imagine in my head what it's like to have a stray paper plane stuck in your hair. Sounds like a good stay-awake-plan innit? We will be a little light at the back due to injuries to Gallas, Eboue, Lehmann, Senderos. Djourou is currently on loan. I'm feeling sick/feverish already. Butterflies in my tummy and warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.

The young Canaries are chasing the treble tonight against the experienced Perak. It's a no brainer that I will be rooting for the Canaries. Perak will no doubt play with a vengeance not only because we beat them at the FA Cup final a couple of months ago, but the fact that this is the most prestigious cup in the country is motivational enough. But it's the Canaries that will be making history, first the Super League Cup, then the FA Cup and tonight the Malaysia Cup. Yes, I am that confident. We've got young legs against slower ones and we've got the twelfth man in the form of the fiercely loyal Hijau Kuning fans and I hope they will help the team to not be overwhelmed by the 90,000 crowds. Bukit Jalil will be deafening tonite and my mum and I will be glued to the box waiting for history to happen.

Elsewhere, it's absolutely joyous in London too. The Arsenal have secured the greatest ever summer signing. Arsene Wenger has signed a three year-contract extension until 2011. I love the gaffer, I think he's the greatest manager ever to grace the footballing world. He stays true to his belief, he builds from scratch and is stubborn enough to adhere to his master plan despite anything and everything.

Dear me! I could pitch talk for like forever! I am so excited now I don't even feel anything having just discovered a few minutes ago that my diamond ring and pendants, and necklaces which probably worth more than 15 grand are somehow mysteriously gone, maybe later I don't know.

(Pitch Talk Update)

This Merdeka weekend proves to be rather nostalgic for almost everyone especially when old friends get together. Yasmin Ahmad's Petronas Merdeka ads revolving around school kids, among other things, were inevitably discussed. I remember one particular day back in good old Sydney, as I was loitering around the Hall, this very handsome soft spoken angel smiled and called my name. Naturally I was taken aback. I couldn't recognized him. He later introduced himself and I went screaming his name! He was my best friend when we were barely 12 back in Malaysia. He was my saviour in so many occasions then. I abandoned all my friends and spent the entire day and part of the nite with him. Naturally we turned some heads but he was oblivious to it. He, with a kopiah on his head, that beard and that flowing jubah and me resembling an Oxford Street regular with black nails and garb; but I was so glad we met again after all those years.

Some things never change..

Football Front:

It's us against the Arsenal Old Boys tonight. Harry Redknapp has put together a very talented and experienced team. The old boys Kanu, Sol and Lauren would be highly motivated for the game, as well as the assistant coach Tony Adams. It's always the case with all ex-Gunners when they play against their former club and Portsmouth plays attacking game so it's gonna be an interesting one. The Arsenal, however, will come out on top.

We turn a glorious 50 today. As usual, I look forward to Yasmin's merdeka ad. Tan Hong Ming In Love is indeed special. We should all learn from the children. They see beyond colours and creeds and all the trivial things that are usually transmogrified into something divisive in an adult's world.
Children, honest and untainted, they make the best teachers; if we let them.

Sport, like children, unites the nation. Racial prejudice aside, we were all Malaysians rooting behind The U23 boys in the Merdeka Cup final. The boys responded positively to the united crowd and ended a 14-year-drought. I hope this is a start to rejuvinate the sorry state of Malaysian football. Here's hoping we could at least play like the Arsenal Reserves, if not the first team.

I may be lazy and not proactive but my mind is a restless hub. I wonder about a lot of things. I have to have a scientific explanation to almost everything. I am more than your average MissInquisitive. Sometimes it borders on madness or so my friends say, but it's the essence of me.
I wonder why superglue does not stick to the inside of its tube; I wonder why there are blank holes in the universe. Did you know that scientists have found this abnormally huge blank empty space void of any stars or galaxies or other cosmic structures, the size of 1 billion light years across, a couple of days ago? That's equivalent to nearly 6 billion trillion miles, an unimaginable expanse of nothingness! I wonder what they're gonna name such vast emptiness. It's a no brainer that my mind would be working overtime over this shit as well.
I also wonder why we hurt so much when we lost in love. The heart is still there intact, no scars no breakage, but why do we hurt? I've searched the net and came up with no answer. Nada! Zilch! And it's really bugging me now. Suri insisted that there isn't one, but I don't think I've tried hard enough to just simply accept that.

Nature is not necessarily logical.

Speaking of answers, The Gunners are really showing them twats who wrote them off before the season starts. My mum brought these strays home. The grey one looks very much like Lucy when I took her in. My lil nephew took it upon himself to toilet-train-et-al of the new additions. I love kittens, they're so soft and warm. Kinda like the feeling you get sprawling on soft cottony cloud (I imagine so), bouyed by the equally soft breeze, the kind that turns all your movement soporifically languorous. They're undemanding little creatures too, they give so much yet take so little.

I love Jamie Oliver and his cockney's (or mockney whatever) lisp. He seems so passionate about what he does. He makes cooking looks so simple and enjoyable. Have you seen him chop those onions? Whoa! Now watch him beat the drums!

August is Great

The new season starts tomorrow double yay! Gunners will host Fulham but I won't be watching the game live on Astro since I'll be cheering on the junior Gunners against AC Milan at the stadium. It's the last game to be played here in my own backyard unfortunately. It's been a totally euphoric experience so far, albeit a short one, one I will always remember for the rest of my entire life. I've had quite a revelation. I know now I am a football groupie! Hahhaa! Terrible but true... I watched them train till the lights went off. I forced my way to talk to them and have pictures taken. I was so excited my hands were shaking even Kieran made a joke about it. The boys are now immortalized in my Complete Stillness.

The samba boys from CR Flamingo won the hearts of so many football neutrals with their wealth of natural talent. Their football is breathtaking, and most of all the stifling asian heat didn't quite get to them unlike the other three teams. Having drawn with Arsenal on the first match day, AFC Ajax went on a gruelling training session right under the 12 noon sun! Crazy but true. Don't ask me how I knew..

Oh dear I've got so many things football to say they're all jumbled up in my head! Gallas for captain? I wanted to cry.. whatever happened to Gilberto?? Wenger definitely have something up his sleeve but the whiny Gallas? I'm not even convinced he's a true Gunner what with all the swipes he'd dished out in public. Granted he's been singing to a different tune of late but still..I always thought Gilberto is more deserving, even Toure or Fabregas or Mad Jens even. I am a tad sad but I have faith in Wenger.

Oh oh and the Chelsea boys were held to a goalless draw by the homeside. Hhhahaha!!

I Whine When I'm Sick

I am home nursing a bad flu (still) and coughing my lungs out as I am obstinately trying to translate my erratic thoughts into words in here (instead of lying in bed sleeping). Granted I need the rest but resting bores the hell out of me. All this sickness is making my head goes soft, kinda like floating between clouds 4 and 9, woozy and whiny all rolled into one which kinda reminds me of rolled oat. Good source of iron which I am seriously lacking hence the hypochromia. Let's just hope it's not the sickle cells that are the cause of this mayhem in my body which now takes me to Azean Irdawaty. I was reading the news earlier and there she was, losing her hair from the chemo, all animated, telling her cancer to go to hell. If that isn't a hell-yeah-positivity I don't know what else is. It's a huge battle and she is adamant about beating it. Hope hers is a success story.
The meds are kicking in, my head feels woozier, sleep beckons but I will be awake for the date with Barazite this evening yay! I'm thinking smuggling, how? If I succeed you'll see some pics in here. Weirded Out

Weather : Improving

The sun is finally out and I hope it will stay that way till later. Of late, it's keen on playing hide and seek and isn't helping in alleviating the ubiquitous illnesses around including mine. I have been slipping in and out of fever/flu/whathaveyous eversince last Friday. That's already a week, and worst of all is the painful and irritating cough that won't subside.

I came home around 1:30 pm from work yesterday. My boss chased me home. I must have looked really sick; either that, or he got tired of having to tolerate my incessant coughing. I threw up trice too. Slept the rest of the afternoon off. Fever's gone now but the coughing punctuates my speech once too often I find difficulty talking and swallowing so I resolve to keeping quiet save the vengeful coughing.

A dear friend suggested a weird remedy for the throat and I think it's absolutely crazy. How does soda water with condensed milk sound? Exactly! I don't even take condensed milk on normal days. Gila!

The media is harping on about how weedy voice would change the state of soccer in the USA. Wtf! The fact that they still call it soccer says it all. So I hate weedy voice with a passion, scruffy old boy needs some scrubbing. He looks like Fred's dirty old dog, whoever Fred is, and I swear I'll never buy that motorola red just because he endorses it. That, being motorola is another good reason for me to steer clear. I simply cant comprehend the brouhaha tha Alamak!! I'm already late!

I can't wait to see Liam Brady, Armand Traore and Nacer Barazite in the flesh. Oh be still my beating heart!

Best of all I can have my cake and eat it too. They will be joined by AFC Ajax, AC Milan and the samba boys from CR Flamingo.

The heart is a funny thing. Two weeks ago I was so heartbroken it felt like I could never recover. Now that I've gained my perspective back, rid of all the frothy cream, caramel sauce, and the doom mongers, I'm convinced that all is not lost. In fact, I am so looking forward to the coming season. It could also be the buzz I get from watching Transformers. Anyway, I'm banking on everyone especially RvP to really really shine. Oooo I've seen how he sometimes talked back to Henry. I'm all excited to watch the new signings! But you know, Sagna makes me hanker for lasagna at this ungodly hour... lapar! Come to think of it, I haven't been up around this time nor had I had a proper lasagna for the longest time. Pizza hut makes pseudo lasagna, no thank you very much.

As I'm typing this a friend of mine is lamenting the fact that life is unfair. I don't believe so. It may appear to be unfair, but the way I see it , you reap what you sow, there's nothing unfair about it. I think you should take stock of your life, instead of grudgingly comparing it with others. Even so, it should spur you on, or you'll be forever embittered from the perceived injustice or whatever it is that squash your balls in the first place.

We should all be grateful for what we have, and all the bad tidings that take countless detours, saving us from our comeuppance for all our misdeeds.

If all else fails, you have God to take cover.

It had to happen. I feel sickly and nauseous, worst of all a sadness that is worse than a breakup. I knew it in my heart that he would inevitably leave but still.. It's draining me of my already depleted energy, my well of hope is as shallow as it can be, and precious tears just seep through the aridity. In parting, it's worse on the one left behind. True that. I am so listless I forgo my weekly date with the docs. Not good but I need to have that functionality again before I cross swords with them.

It's heart wrenching but I am keeping the faith. As much as my heart wants him to stay, my head is telling me to let go and move on. It's really not the end of the world cos no player is bigger than the club. Whatever happens, it's The Arsenal for me. I am a proud Gooner, proud of the youthful squad at our disposal and the brand of football we're playing. Perhaps it's about time Gilberto takes captaincy he truly deserves.

Having said all that, if and when Wenger leaves… I'd still be utterly devastated..

I forgot what it felt like to kick the frothing waves, how beautiful the ocean was. I realized I was racing the sun. I needed to find out what God had said to the rose and caused it to laugh in full blown-beauty, so off I went seeking that lightness I so deserve.

The ocean still hasn't been as beautiful since, but it didn't fail to make soothing music for the wind to sing into my ears.
I drenched myself walking in the rain that night, my head was lighter than the breeze, but in all earnestness, I was a cocktail of emotions..

The season's over, and the bidding starts. Rumours aplenty, some new ones some are as old as Highbury was.

To Barca : Give it up. Henry IS the Arsenal.
Gilberto and Toure to Serie A? Unbelievable!

In fact, it's an exodus of players leaving. wtf! but I'll only believe what the official site says. It's amazing what boredom and ratings can do to some.

Everytime we reach this stage, I feel somewhat empty inside. No football to look forward to and gets excited about. It didn't help that the final curtains were such a letdown. The FA Cup final boleh muntah! What ever happened to free flowing attacking football? and I thought ManUre was gonna lose some men due to the overenthusiastic rugger-like athleticism from Chelshit. It was also a head to head competition of sort for the best diver between Drogba and Christina. It was so boring I switched to AF5 on Ria instead. The CL final wasn't a great one either but at least it didn't bore me to tears. Liverpool just ran and ran and ran but never quite get there. Goes to show skills matter, big time too! Yay for Pirlo and Nesta! Pippo IMHO is the best goal poacher ever. 34 and still making waves.
